The name of the islands comes from the Byzantine period, when royal princes and empresses were exiled there. With the introduction of steamboats during the late Ottoman period around the 19th century, these islands became popular resorts for the rich people who built their wooden houses.
Princess Island are consist of 9 islands (Buyukada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, Kınalıada etc.) We are going to visit 2 favourite islands (Heybeliada and Buyukada) after collecting all guest from hotels; Ferry to Heybeliada for having small tour around the island with new electrical cars.
The Princes’ Islands are a cluster of 9 islands southeast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara. Mainly car-free, the islands are known for their horse-drawn carriages (phaetons). At the highest point of Büyükada, the largest island, the 6th-century Hagia Yorgi Church has panoramic views. Nearby are the pine forests of Dil Burnu National Park. The Museum of the Princes’ Islands has exhibits on the islands’ history.
